Noise artist Danny Tantrum has been making headlines this week, after recently defecating onstage and eating it mid-performance. That incident took place at the Coral Snake in Austin, TX this past Wednesday, December 18th, and was filmed and shared on Tantrum‘s social media. Upon committing the act, venue staff appear to have intervened and put an end to Tantrum‘s set.

In case you were wondering, this also doesn’t appear to be the only time Tantrum has indulged in said practices at a live venue. In light of Tantrum‘s actions in Austin, TX, the aforementioned venue shared the following message from an Austin, TX booker on their social media:

The practice of defecating onstage was perhaps most infamously practiced by the late GG Allin, who was not only known to relieve himself during live performances, but also smear his excrement on his person, fling it into the audience, and yes, sometimes, eat it. Thankfully, that practice has largely remained confined to the bowels of live event history.

However, there has been at least one notable flareup in the heavy music scene. Back in 2002, while performing on at the annual ‘Reading Festival‘ with The Dillinger Escape Plan, vocalist Greg Puciato infamously defecated onstage, allegedly smearing some on himself before throwing the rest of his subsequently bagged up excretion into the audience, remarking, “You’re going to see a lot of sh*t on this stage today, You might as well see some more.”
