CKY vocalist/guitarist Chad I Ginsburg has further commented on the physical altercation that ended his band’s involvement on the ongoing Alien Ant Farm European/UK tour. To catch you up, the two alternative rock bands were several weeks into their overseas trek when this past Saturday, November 09th, saw CKY kicked off the bill.

Dryden Mitchell, vocalist for multi-platinum rockers Alien Ant Farm commented at the time:

“Sadly, Chad from CKY hasn’t figured out how to cohabitate with others after all these years. They will no longer be on the Alien Ant Farm Tour through the rest of the UK shows after Chad punched me in the face earlier today. I’ve watched him treat multiple crew members and opening band members like trash through the Europe shows and cause general drama around our camp. Before the last Europe shows l went to Chad and asked if he had any issues with anyone specifically and if he wanted to have a meeting with the whole crew and bands to discuss what’s going on, he up ended the table in the dressing room and threw his phone, and then cancelled their show….

Today we still had business things to square away and I told his manager what a problem Chad was being, verbally, as well as fuckin up the bus with all of his messes every day for other people to clean up… Well he punched me in the face and pretty much ran away like I imagine he’ll do for all of his future problems.

I’m grateful for my sobriety and grateful that I didn’t retaliate physically in any way whatsoever. I would love these shows to continue and apologize to all the CkY fans for Chad‘s behavior. We have zero hard feelings for Jess and Elvis in CKY and are gutted to see them go, but I will never knowingly put myself in volatile situations so this had to end.

After suffering a Cl And C2 Fusion (Spinal Fracture) From a Bus Crash years ago, I hope that everything is ok in that area. Shows will continue without CKY, and we hope everyone still wants to come enjoy positive evenings with us, including CKY fans. If you don’t, we understand and refunds will be issued accordingly.

Stay safe everybody. And Chad, Go To The Gym… After That, Find A Therapist, And Maybe In 25 Years… We Can Shake Hands. Until Then Though GET HELP, Love Dryden

A day later, Ginsburg hit up his own social media to offer the following brief statement on the matter:

“Uk CKY fans
Get your money back!!
I had NO choice and GOOD reason for what happened.
I will always defend myself
You know me much better than that !

More info to come
Apologies to the fans”

Speaking via his Instagram stories today, November 11th, Ginsburg has now added further commentary, posting:

“Nothing wrong with defending yourself from a bad guy. If you are attacked or feel truly threatened, have no fear and stop the threat however you can.

I had to protect myself. It was a split second reaction to a very angry guy muttering then yelling #*%! at me from 10ft away charging at ME ,into my personal space ! Coming at me. He was attacking me! , I felt a physical threat and had I not tried to avoid the attack, I would have been assaulted . for fucks sake.

I could say so much more. But situation sucks for al!
I’d like to stop. Rather not get all into all. It’s no one’s biz. This is not news. . as unfortunate as the situation is all together.”

Ginsburg also seeming escalated the situation through a series of screencaps on his Instagram stories. Among them were a screenshot which appears to show Dryden Mitchell using the n-word on a past social media post. Ginsburg captioned it with ‘@dryden.mitchell this you?’

Ginsburg also shared anti-Semitic insults he’s received on social media in light of the fracas. He implied the individuals making those comments were followers of Mitchell, stating at one point via a caption to the Alien Ant Farm frontman, “thanks for the new followers. You can have them back though.”

An additional post on his stories featured a dm from a CKY fan who was allegedly spat on by an Alien Ant Farm fan for wearing CKY merch to one of Alien Ant Farm‘s shows. Ginsburg also shared a screencap of a past report on his his 2023 battery charge. That charged stemmed from an incident at an October 29, 2002 Alien Ant Farm concert, in which Mitchell was alleged to have taken the hand of a male fan from the audience, guiding it onto his own (Mitchell‘s) genitals mid-performance.

Alien Ant Farm will continue on with the dates for their largely sold out European/UK tour, having newly announced a replacement for CKY. The status of Alien Ant Farm & CKY‘s previously announced March tour of Australian & New Zealand next year has yet to be addressed in the wake of this past weekend.

Update: November 11th, 2024 02:05pm:

Ginsburg has since issued the below follow-up statement on the fate of the UK/European tour:

“It is no secret that the UK is CKY‘s favorite place to play and the ticket sales prove that as well out of all this, nothing hurts me more than not being able to perform for the fans that had tickets and I deeply apologize for any inconveniences this unfortunate situation has caused anyone. .as we have many losses to recover as well at this point

Till we meet again UK
LOVE THE FUCK OUT OF YOU
AND IRELAND!!”
