Limp Bizkit‘s follow-up to their 2021 comeback album “Still Sucks” is officially in the works. A post just shared by the infamous nü-metal band on their Instagram story confirmed that drummer John Otto has been in the studio to lay down his drum parts for new material. Vocalist Fred Durst narrated that video, with a clip of Otto laying down tracks behind the kit also being shared.

While Limp Bizkit‘s explosive mid 90s and early 2000s success garnered them mainstream attention and numerous multi-platinum certifications, the group eventually fell out of favor and were often viewed with disdain by fans of both metal and pop alike.

However, the band managed to stage a successful comeback over the past half decade or so. That movement really began to pick up steam during their 2021 appearance at the annual ‘Lollapalooza‘ festival in Chicago, IL.

Since then they’ve been enjoying a new renaissance of sorts, capitalizing on a growing interest in nü-metal among younger audiences. While the quintet are pushing forward creatively with this studio time and an upcoming European/UK tour, they’re also in the midst of a sizable legal battle.

Earlier this month, Durst filed a $200 million lawsuit against UMG, claiming deceptive accounting and other shady practices have deprived not only Limp Bizkit, but potentially countless other artists, of owed royalty money.

Despite some 45 million copies sold of albums from their catalog, Durst claimed in the aforementioned suit that Limp Bizkit only began receiving royalties from the aforementioned label earlier this year.
