Given their track record with secrecy when it comes to the identity of their new recruits, Slipknot have been doing a fairly admirable job when it comes to the replacement they chose for Craig “133” Jones. That mystery musician has been holding down the samples, media, keyboards and more in the group since last year and has yet to definitively be identified.
While Zac Baird was the first individual thought to be behind that mask, an errant filename led maggots in another direction this past April, with the general consensus zeroing in on Jeff Karnowski, former bassist for Dirty Little Rabbits.
That group was a side project of Slipknot percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan and also featured Michael Pfaff on its roster. Pfaff of course joined Slipknot back in 2021 and would go on to be nicknamed ‘Tortilla Man‘ by the band’s fans. Pfaff assumed the duties previously held by Chris Fehn.
There hasn’t been much movement on the identity of the mystery musician since then until now. Kelly Osbourne, the significant other of Slipknot turntablist Sid Wilson, was in attendance during the band’s gig last night (September 01st) at the ‘Rocklahoma‘ festival in Pryor, OK.
The couple had their young son Sidney with them and documented their time backstage via Osbourne‘s Instagram stories. A shot shared finds the couple’s toddler having a moment with vocalist Corey Taylor — however, in the background, the man of mystery mentioned above seemingly appears unmasked.
Presented with this latest evidence, fans of the group seem to be leaning in further into Karnowski being the the man behind the mask. The shot in question can be seen below:
