Shavo Odadjian’s Seven Hours After Violet Announce…

System of a Down may never release a new album ever again, but that hasn’t stopped its members from going off and making music on their own. We’ve already heard solo albums from Daron Malakian, John Dolmayan, and Serj Tankian, so it’s only right that bassist Shavo Odadjian get his turn.
Now, we’ve already reported on Odadjian’s solo effort Seven Hours After Violet, but earlier today the band announced that they’ll be releasing a full self-titled album on October 11 via Sumerian Records’ imprint 1336 Records. In addition to that reveal, the band dropped their latest single “Radiance.”
Those keeping track may remember that the band already released a previous single with “Paradise” this past June. In that instance, the band took on a more modern “-core” sound compared to Odadjian’s work with System of a Down. Offering a bit of contrast, “Radiance” eschews that sound for a more melodic/radio-friendly angle.
Speaking of the album, Odadjian said it was something he’s been working toward for a while.
“This album is the culmination of years of creative exploration. With Seven Hours After Violet I wanted to return to my roots in heavy music but also bring something entirely new to the table. “Radiance” and its precursor, “Paradise’” are but a small glimpse of the intensity, musical diversity and emotion that run through this album. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it in full and to bring these songs to life on stage at our first live performance at Mayhem Fest.”
Seven Hours After Violet is comprised of Odadjian, Left To Suffer‘s Taylor Barber, Winds of Plague guitarist Morgoth, Scarypoolparty and American Idol contestant Alejandro Aranda, and Winds of Plague’s Josh Johnson.
Seven Hours After Violet will be available on October 11, but you can preorder your copy today.
