I REALLY hope I’m not the only one who had no goddamn idea who or what Valco Oy was. If you happen to be living under some sort of un-tech-savvy rock like I am, apparently Valco Oy is a Finnish company that specializes in top-tier audio equipment. Of that equipment, a headphone collaboration with Megadeth is getting added to their roster. Not really surprising, but what’s going to make them special?
Well, they’ll feature some advanced ass active noise canceling for one. For two, they’re made to be extra fuckin comfy for when you want to spend extra fuckin time avoiding those around you while blasting music. For three, they do something special with Dave Mustaine’s voice that I think might be akin to Siri functions but definitely do not quote me on that.
A good thing to quote would be the press release though, which describes the Megadeth VMK25’s as a pair of headphones that “transforms every listening session into a front-row concert experience by blending Valco’s cutting-edge technology with Megadeth’s signature sound.” Sounds fancy and schweet.
The design comes from Finnish industrial designer Lauri Lumme, with audio specialties coming from expert Jasse Kesti. The idea for the collaboration came after their new Finnish guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari showed them how tight Valco Oy’s headphones are, which impressed the band and made them obsessed with the sound.
Mustaine had this to say about the new partnership:
Partnering with Valco has allowed us to create something truly unique for our fans. These headphones capture the essence of our music with unparalleled clarity and power. We are excited to share this with our global audience.
The Megadeth VMK25 headphones are available for purchase now on the Valco Oy website. They retail for €249.00, which is about $272. That’s a pretty penny, but totally worth it if you want “Symphony of Destruction” to sound, well, like a symphony of destruction. Check out their look below, courtesy of Valco Oy.
