Next year it will be a quarter century since Papa Roach had their breakthrough album Infest with the hit lead single “Brain Stew.” Oh, I’m sorry, that’s not it. I think the song was called “Genghis Khan.” No wait, wrong again. I think it’s called “Last Resort.” Yeah, that’s it. I always get those songs mixed up. Anyway, can you believe it’s been 25 years?

To celebrate the anniversary, the Roach is doing a big European tour called the Rise of the Roach Tour starting in late January in Hamburg Germany and culminating in a massive headlining show at London’s OVO Arena Wembly on February 7. The band will be partnering at the London show with the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) a suicide prevention charity in the U.K., with a £1 donation being included in every ticket. The tour also promises some “very special guests.”

In a statement reported on by Blabbermouth, frontman Jacoby Shaddix commented:

“The U.K. has always been special to us — so we wanted to celebrate this music with you all in a BIG way and I can’t wait to step on that stage.”

While it’s certainly a fine bit of nostalgia for anyone who remembers the early 2000s, the poster with the giant cockroach is a reminder that the whole roach infestation imagery was not so much metal as it was kind of creepy and gross. Death and mutilation in metal is all well and good, but can we keep insects out of it?

General on sale for the tour begins on Friday at RiseoftheRoach.com. Check out the full list of dates below.
