With two decades now officially under their collective belt, the guys, gals, and non-binary pals over at Decibel are celebrating the occasion the only way they know how — with an absolutely killer extreme metal show. Announced earlier today, the gig will feature sets from some entirely unexpected bands, including Immolation, Horrendous, and — oh right — fucking Autopsy.
Set to take place on August 31 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia, the 20th Anniversary Show will be a must-see for metalheads of all stripes. Autopsy vocalist and drummer Chris Reifert said he and his bandmates were excited to bring their punishment over to the city for their first-ever Philly show.
“Autopsy is revved up, bloodthirsty and ready to bring 100% horrific Death Metal to Decibel’s 20th anniversary bash in Philadelphia. Come on out and go insane with us!”
In addition to the day’s importance to Decibel, the show will also feature some very special sets. Immolation will pdm to mark its 10th anniversary; and Crypt Sermon will play their new record The Stygian Rose in full. The other bands on the bill will be Krieg, Deathevokationj, and Rid of Me.
After all these years, Decibel founder and editor-in-chief Albert Mudrian said it’s a great honor to be able to celebrate the magazine’s 20 years.
‘We are proud to reveal an event that feels as momentous as our 20th anniversary itself. We’re eager to party in our hometown with some of our oldest and dearest friends. And, no, you’re not on the guest list.”
Tickets will go on sale this Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m. Packages include an all-ages general admission pass, as well as an exclusive VIP option for 200 people that lets attendees get in to a special “Decibowl” pre-show reception, as well as access to the elevated viewing deck and other amenities.
