Death metal motherfuckers Fuming Mouth are about to head out on the road to tear some shit up, so to get people riled up for their run throughout the U.S., they released a brand new super heavy, super sludgy track “Daylight Again.”
Today’s drop is the band’s first bit of new music since the release of their 2023 album Last Day of Sun, which makes sense since this track was left off of that record. Speaking of the new track, vocalist/guitarist Mark Whelan said it’s ultimately got a hopeful message, despite how it sounds.
“‘Daylight Again’ expresses that the future is bright. It got so dark for the band behind the scenes. We had so many friends die, so many issues. It felt like it would never end.
“The song was supposed to be the final track on our album Last Day of Sun but it didn’t fit on the vinyl so we threw it in the vault. It feels appropriate that a song called “Daylight Again” finally gets to see the light of day.”
Fuming Mouth are about to embark on a U.S. tour on May 7 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with the final date set for May 21 in Hartford, Connecticut. After a couple weeks off, they’ll head back out for two more shows: one on June 1 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and another on June 15 in Boston, Massachusetts for Storm Fest.
