There’s not much to do in Connecticut when you’re straight edge, so why not put out a split with your friends from Texas? Connecticut straight-edge metalcore group Balmora and Texas metalcore unit Since My Beloved teamed up recently for a new split on Ephyra with the totally breezy and not at all intense title of Six Pacts Etched in Blood. The split has six tracks evenly divided between the two artists and would seem to be the final release for Since My Beloved.
According to the label’s Instagram post, Balmora’s portion of the split was recorded at The Source Recording Studio in New Haven, Connecticut while Since My Beloved’s portion was recorded and mixed by Jayson Braffett and then was also mastered at The Source Recording Studio. The cover art, which makes the split look like an old, leatherbound book, was done by Dominic Pabon.
If you’re in Texas or willing to enter the state for some reason (and if you are, why?), the two bands also announced a few tour dates in Texas for July along with Azshara, Razel Got Her Wings, and Discontent. The series of three dates marks the final three shows for Since My Beloved according to their Instagram story. That means that, if you like what you hear from the split, these shows are likely to be the last chance to hear any of them live. The final shows are being billed under the titled “Farewell My Beloved.” Those final three Texas dates are as follows:
07/05 San Antonio, TX
07/06 Houston, TX
07/07 Denton, TX
