Slayer, Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Mötley Crüe to Headline Aftershock 2024
Whoaaaaa. Announced moments ago, the folks behind the annual Aftershock rock festival just dropped the gauntlet for every other major U.S. festival, as they revealed Slayer, Iron Maiden, Slipknot, and Mötley Crüe made up the absolutely stacked group of headliners at the top of the bill of more than 130 bands.
Taking place from October 10 to 13 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, California, this year’s Aftershock will feature a wide range of artists from the rock and heavy metal world, including Breaking Benjamin, Falling in Reverse, Staind, Halestorm, Seether, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Mastodon, Anthrax… really the list goes on and on (you can find the full list below).
What’s particularly cool is it looks like the headliners were paired on their respective night with a supporting act just before their set that should get shit rolling. Slayer will be preceded by Pantera on Thursday, October 10; Slipknot will follow Five Finger Death Punch on Friday, October 11; Iron Maiden will play after Judas Priest’s set on Saturday, October 12; and Mötley Crüe will come after Disturbed on Sunday, October 13.
Visit Sacramento President and CEO Mike Testa said the city was excited as ever to host Aftershock, especially after the insane lineup that was just announced.
“We couldn’t be more excited that Sacramento has become synonymous with the largest rock festival on the West Coast. The city is ready to welcome fans for four days packed with more than 130 bands and unforgettable live music experiences.”
Speaking of the sheer number of bands, the festival is adding a fifth stage to accommodate everyone playing that weekend, which is wild.
Tickets for single day and weekend general admission are on sale right now, with deposits starting as low as $10 down. You can find out more about the ticketing situation at the festival’s official website.
So yeah. Holy shit. If you can make it out to Aftershock, it’s looking like this is the year to do it.
