Well, would you look at that — that Ghost movie rumor we reported on about an hour ago came out to be pretty much right on the nose. Just moments ago, the massively successful band that everyone seemingly loves to bitch about online revealed that their previously hinted at concert movie is titled Rite Here, Rite Now and will be shown in theaters worldwide exclusively on June 20 and June 22.
According to a YouTube page for the movie’s full trailer, we’ll get a better glimpse at what Ghost’s got in store on May 9 at 9 a.m. Yet in the less than 30 seconds the page actually shows, we get a snippet of the live version of “Square Hammer” one can assume is featured in the film, as well as the admittedly pretty sick movie poster. We also know it’s being presented by Trafalgar Releasing, the same company that broadcast two Metallica concerts last August to theaters around the world.
As previously reported, we don’t know a whole Hell of a lot about the content of the movie, other than the fact that the band recorded live footage from both of their 2023 Los Angeles shows at the Kia Forum for it and that it will have a narrative hook to it, a la Through The Never or The Song Remains The Same. Fans of the band have long speculated that this film will be how the world learns of Papa Emeritus IV’s fate, since he previously revealed during a show in Australia that it would be his final performance with the band, despite not being dragged off-stage by unknown members of the “clergy”, like his predecessors.
So there you have it — the rumors I reported on were mostly spot on (the date was a little off). All we have to do now is wait for the trailer and then for the eventual release. It’s not much longer now.
