Gel Sign with a New Label, Announce New EP and Rel…

Hardcore heroes Gel have signed a record deal with Blue Grape Music and announced a new upcoming EP, to be titled Persona.

The record will follow on the heals of their 2021 album Violent Closure and their 2023 record Only Constant. It will be out August 16 via their new label.

Vocalist Sami Kaiser:

“We really wanted to fill out the songs more and make them more nuanced. It’s a step forward, it’s different, it’s catchy, but it still really sounds like us.”

Guitarist Anthony Webster adds:

“I feel like Only Constant was the cap on us doing that style of hardcore, and I didn’t want to do more of the same. But I also feel like at this point we just have more of a sense of what a GEL song is and we wanted to apply that to a different kind of songwriting.”

“MIRAGE,” the first single to be shared from the upcoming EP, can be viewed below. The video was done by Eric Richter.
